Congratulations go to Cadet Warrant Officer Jayne Morley of 2160 (Sleaford) Squadron ATC who has been appointed the Lord Lieutenants Air Cadet for Lincolnshire.
Lord Lieutenant’s cadets are selected one from each of the Air, Army, Combined and Sea cadet units in the county. This is a nation-wide scheme.
Jayne (18) was selected for the position in competition with cadets from the eighteen other Air Training Corps Squadrons in Lincolnshire. She will join with her counterparts from the other cadet organisations in what is considered one of the highest honours a cadet can achieve.
As the Lord Lieutenants Air Cadet, she will accompany the Queen’s representative, Mr Toby Dennis, the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, on a number of his official engagements throughout the coming year.
Jayne, who joined the Air Cadets five years ago, has had the ambition to achieve this distinction from early on in her cadet career. This is the fifth time in the last twelve years that a cadet from Sleaford has been honoured with this appointment, a reflection of the high standard achieved by the squadrons’ cadets.
Jayne said of her appointment: - “I am deeply honoured to have been selected for this role and I will do my utmost to uphold the high standard achieved by my predecessors.”
